Gary Pushkin, MD

Dr. Pushkin is a Baltimore native and a graduate of the University of Maryland.  He received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and has practiced as an Orthopedist for over 35 years.  He is also a French-trained pastry chef, having graduated from the Ritz-Escoffier Ecole de Gastronomie.

He speaks four languages including English.  He is a member of the Board of Councilors for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and serves on both the State Legislative and Regulatory Issues Committee and the Advocacy Resources Committee. He volunteers for IAIME’s legislative committee on becoming a fellow.

In addition to serving as President of MedChi, he has also served as Baltimore County Medical Association President and Baltimore County Trustee.  He has been on MedChi’s Legislative Committee for over a decade, co-chairing it for the last three years. He serves as an alternate delegate on Maryland’s Delegation to the AMA.  He currently serves as Chair of MedChi’s Opioid Task Force.

He is an Eagle Scout, as is his son, and has served on the Board of the Boy Scouts since the 1990’s.
