Personality Strengths as Your Career Brand..


The Career Branding Exercise (CBE) is an innovative methodology designed to help people understand themselves and communicate their personal brand in simple accurate language. The model is based upon interpreting the Big Five Model from a strength psychology perspective. The goal of the exercise is to turn a personality strength into a professional distinction. By the end of the session, participants will write a memorable, meaningful and concise (seven word) statement that captures the essence of who they are. It is critical that participants experience the CBE and develop their own branding statement. Going through the process themselves will allow them to speak to clients from a first-person perspective.

Many clients need career coaching when selling themselves into new opportunities. The CBE is a simple effective tool that guides you to think accurately in self-discovery. The exercise helps people gain confidence and clarity when introducing themselves in business related settings. The CBE also helps clients prepare for important interviews and presentations by highlighting how they add strategic value to their business ecosystem.

The CBE has been used with our clients for the past two years with excellent results. This tool quickly and specifically helps people understand what their personality strength is and how it manifests when they peak perform. George started his career as a sales trainer and moved into the “C” suite. He has been a CEO of a mid-cap publicly traded human capital company, and EVP of two large service companies. He has consulted to and coached many global leaders. George is a member of the Society for Psychologists in Management. George is a board member of two IT firms and was a popular radio talk show host in Chicago where his program “The Business Doctor” was on air for eight years. George received his doctorate from William and Mary in Counseling, and an MS in Psychology from James Madison University. He resides in Oak Park, Il.
