An Overview of Mind-Body Science: Why Dance/Movement Therapy Works!

This is a virtual event, accessible online and over the phone. Access instructions will be provided after registration.

We know that dance/movement therapy works because we have seen it in action or facilitated a therapy session. But, can you scientifically explain why it works? Do you know the science behind the mind-body connection? This webinar will empower both new and seasoned clinicians with information to understand and explain the latest in mind-body science, and how it pertains to dance/movement therapy.  Mental health therapists with an interest in mind-body approaches will gain a greater understanding of these concepts and how they take shape in therapeutic application.

By the end of the webinar, participants will:

  1. gain an understanding of the most recent mind-body science.
  2. be able to explain why dance therapy works using a scientific lens.
  3. explore how to use this information in order to advocate for the field, work, and clinical practice.
