Preventing OB Injuries and Claims in Rural Hospitals and Beyond

Venue

This is a virtual event, accessible online. Access instructions will be provided after registration.

Description

The lives of mothers, babies and families in our communities can be profoundly and permanently impacted by the care we deliver. Recent headlines sound the alarm that national safety trends in obstetrics are going in the wrong direction. Still more headlines raise concerns over access to OB services as rural hospitals make hard choices to discontinue inpatient obstetric care. In this webinar, we’ll review the findings of our OB malpractice claim analysis, highlight the trends in allegations and contributing factors and present one rural hospital’s journey to improve.

Learning Objectives

This webinar will provide you with the knowledge to:

  1. Identify the top allegations and contributing factors involved in OB injuries and malpractice claims.
  2. Implement tools and resources to improve OB care in your community.
  3. Understand how one rural hospital sustains a teamwork approach to OB patient safety.
