Brave, not Perfect

This is a virtual event, accessible online and/or over the phone. Access instructions will be provided after registration.

Do you ever feel crushed under the weight of your own expectations? Do you run yourself ragged trying to do it all? Have you ever passed up an opportunity because you are afraid you will not immediately excel? Is failure simply not an option?

You are not alone. As women, we have been taught from an early age to play it safe. Well-meaning parents and teachers rewarded us for being neat and polite, and urged us to choose cautiously and be careful so we do not get hurt. Meanwhile, boys were expected to speak up, get dirty, play rough and climb to the top of the monkey bars. In short, boys are taught to be brave, while girls are taught to be perfect.

Join us for a discussion on how striving for perfection can negatively impact us and how we can find the courage to break this trend.
